Library Rules and Regulations

1. Only readers and researchers are allowed to enter the library. Non-library business is prohibited inside.

2. A valid ID should be presented at the counter upon entering. Everybody is required to sign in at the logbook for attendance.

3. Bags and other belongings must be deposited at the baggage counter. Only ballpens, pencils and paper are allowed to be taken in. However, wallets and other valuables should not be deposited for personal safety.

4. Things are subject for inspection before leaving the library premises.

5. Only novels are allowed to be taken out for a maximum period of one week. A photocopy of a valid ID needs to provided for reference. Other books and library materials are for reading room use only, and cannot be lent out.

6. Only two (2) books at a time can be borrowed by providing request slips at the counter.

7. Silence must be observed inside the library at all times.

8. Smoking, eating, littering, talking aloud and loitering is strictly prohibited.

9. Children’s books are to be used only by children being supervised by their parents/guardians.

10. Theft, vandalism, and mutilation of library materials will be penalized under the law, as provided for in R.A. 2293. Destroyed or torn books and other library materials must be replaced by the culpable party.

Internet Policy

1. The internet service of KHCL is provided for free. 

2. Each user is allowed to use the Internet Section for a maximum of thirty (30) minutes only.

3. A user can have documents printed. However, a minimal fee intended to offset the cost of the replenishment of consumables like paper and ink shall be charged.

4. Downloading of text based information is allowed. Those who wish to do so should be under the supervision/assistance of the Internet Section Supervisor.

5. Users are not allowed to download programs, program updates, mp3 files, video files, photographs, or movies.

6. Users are forbidden to bring diskettes, usb flash drives, and any other form of storage media for use in the Internet Section.

7. The following are specifically not allowed:

      a. Surfing through or visiting games and/or casino sites.

      b. Surfing through or visiting pornography sites.

      c. Logging on to chatroom or online social networks such as Facebook, Friendster/Hipster etc.

      d. Bookmarking of specific web sites.

8. Violation of the policy shall result to the following penalties:

      a. First Offense - ban from using the Internet Service for one week.

      b. Second Offense - ban from using the Internet Service for one month.

      c. Third Offense - ban from using the library services.
